Yes, you read that right. Starting this September, Afroyla is giving away $5,000 every month to one phenomenal sister in our community.
As a gift of support, recognition, and love — for the woman who’s out there rising, slaying, and making her own way in the world.
Why I’m Doing This
The idea for the RISE & SLAY FUND started as a whisper in my heart... just a thought to give back to the community that built Afroyla.
What I didn’t expect? Over 1,000 emails from you — filled with raw, powerful, unforgettable stories.
Stories of motherhood, grief, resilience, starting over… Stories that stopped me in my tracks. That reminded me why I do what I do.
I started with the idea of giving away $2,000. Then I said, maybe $3,000. Then… $4,000?
I’ve landed on a number that makes my accountant a little nervous — but makes my heart feel alive:

How to Enter:
- Post a photo or video of yourself with your Afroyla bag or wallet on Instagram.
- In your caption, tell us your story. About a challenge you faced. A lesson you learned. Or simply… how you RISE. And how you SLAY.
- Use the hashtag #RiseAndSlay,#Afroyla and tag @Afroyla.handbags
- Optional: Email your post link to michelle@afroyla.com so we don’t miss it.
How We Choose the Winner:
Before the 25th of each month, my team and I will read every entry and select the post that best captures the Rise & Slay spirit.
The winner will be announced at the end of the month — and will receive $5,000.
